Maestro Franz Vote bases his choice of repertoire for each Season Finale Opera program on works that he feels best showcase New Mexico’s top professional singers. Each season Franz gets questions from the audience such as, “Where did you find these fantastic singers?” And he is delighted to say that all of them are New Mexicans! Franz also likes to include beautiful works that are standard in European theatres but heard less often in the US, such as Viennese operettas and the Spanish operatic genre known as zarzuela.
