That is $85 million higher than a recent forecast from state economists. Income for July and August also outpaced expectations. The state has increased teacher salaries and spending on roadway construction.

  • CAPITOL CHRISTMAS TREE

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham will be among those in Washington for the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree lighting ceremony. This year's tree traveled over 1,500 miles (2414 kilometers) from the Carson National Forest in northern New Mexico. It's a 60-foot (18-meter) blue spruce that will be adorned with thousands of ornaments made by New Mexico school children and community members.
