Our annual Science-Fiction Spectacular Sale will be held on Saturday, August 9th from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, in the Main Library Lower Level. This sale boasts thousands of sci-fi, fantasy, and horror books and movies, all at 70–90% of list price. Paperbacks start at just 25 cents each! You’ll also find bargain prices on many other genres of used books, DVDs, CDs, and records. Entry is free for Friends members and $2 for non-members before noon.
The Friends of the Library use funds from the Bookshop and Book Sales to support the Public Library Albuquerque and Bernalillo County programs, such as the Summer Reading Program, El Día de los Niños, staff development, community outreach, and many other offerings.
The Friends rely on the generous donations of books and other media from the community. Small donations can be dropped off at the local library branches and larger donations at the Main Library. Join us for a Friends of the Public Library pop-up sale! We’ll be bringing our sale to the Tony Hillerman Library on Saturday, August 16th from 10am to 4pm. Find lots of quality, gently used fiction and nonfiction as well as a selection of children’s books, art books, CDs, DVDs and vinyl starting at just 25 cents each!

Harmonies of Hope is a youth led concert that benefits The Grief Center and will take place on August 23rd at Rio Rancho High School’s Performing Arts Center. Accomplished youth from Rio Rancho and Albuquerque will perform a variety of uplifting and hopeful songs to honor the mission of the mission of The Grief Center.
Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased below or at the door of night of the event. Concessions (cash only) and a raffle (cash and card) will also be available. Run Time: 2 1/2 hours (including a 30 min intermission).
