Clay Speaks of Home, the annual New Mexico Potters and Clay Artists members exhibition opens at the Santa Fe Community College Visual Arts Gallery on March 5 and runs through April 8. With over 60 woks on exhibit (entries are open until January 23), this promises to be one of the largest and best exhibitions yet from this exciting, state-wide, 50-year-old organization. From expressive sculpture and evocative abstract forms to beautifully glazed lidded jars and pitchers, this exhibition has something for everyone. There are mixed media objects, wall hangings, functional and decorative ware that express everything from profound harmony with our New Mexican landscape to serious concerns with world events. Join us at SFCC’s lovely campus for the opening on Thursday, March 5 from 4 to 6 pm to meet the artists, tour the gallery and hear who won the awards from the three jurors Serit deLopaz Kotowski (last year’s winner), Mary Sharp Davis (ceramicist extraordinaire) and Elizabeth Hunt (Head of Ceramics, SFCC). Maybe you will find that something special for your own collection. Then check out the exhibit at our website and cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award at www.nmpotters.org beginning March 5.
Arrowsoul Art Collective’s mural installation fuses concepts of the beginning, present, and future of Indigenous pictographic arts. Based in the Southwest region, Arrowsoul Art Collective creates graffiti walls and mural paintings inspired by the evolving meanings of “Future Old School” and “Indigenous Freeways.” The artists create new visions of the Southwest landscape through blending letter structures, illustrative architecture, and textured palettes of places of home. Arrowsoul Art Collective’s projects reunite communities along the Rio Grande through creative participation. Located in the Art Through Struggle Gallery, their newest mural will be on display through June 28, 2026.

Journey Down the Gila is the first full-length film that visually captures the beauty of the Gila River through the 37-mile river run through the Gila Wilderness. The documentary, directed by Albuquerque film maker, David Garcia, tells the story of three local, New Mexico teens, who died in service to the wild places they loved, their mothers’ trip down the river they sought to protect, and the struggle to keep the Gila flowing free.
Four years and multiple river trips in the making, Journey Down the Gila is a lush cinematic, river-level journey down one of America’s great natural treasures. This 90-minute documentary is a love letter to the Gila and a rallying call to protect it.
After the film, stay after for brief remarks from special guests and learn how you can support efforts to keep New Mexico’s last free-flowing river wild. The film is not available online or for purchase, so don’t miss this opportunity to experience it on the big screen!
This film screening will be hosted by NM Wild with support of Heart of the Gila.
Tickets are non-refundable and available exclusively online.
The Adobe Theater presents Andrew Bergman’s hilarious comedy, Social Security . The show runs from February 27 – March 22. Fridays and Saturdays at 7.30pm, Sundays at 2.00pm. Saturday, March 14, matinee at 2pm only. Thursdays, March 5 and 19 at 7.30pm ($10 tix available).
Familiar actors known to The Adobe audiences are Clair Gardner, Jeffery Siddall, Stephanie Larragoite, Jenny Miller, Joel D. Miller and Jim Pinkston. Trendy Manhattan art gallery owners’ lives are upended when ‘Barbara’s nerdy sister deposits their eccentric mother on the couple's doorstep. They introduce ‘Sophie’ to a suave nonagenarian artist who offers to paint her portrait and soon begins to brighten her life in ways she never expected in her twilight years.
Andrew Bergman is an American screenwriter, film director, novelist and playwright. His best-known films include Blazing Saddles, The In-Laws, The Freshman and Striptease. Social Security was the first play he wrote, starring Marlo Thomas and Ron Silver, which opened on Broadway in 1986. This will be director, Lewis Hauser’s third time directing this play. “It is different for me each time. Social Security is a modern throwback to those great screwball comedies of yesteryear. It is a comedy with heart. In my opinion, all great comedies must have at least one poignant moment. In Social Security it's the budding romance of the older couple, proving that the magic of true love can transform even the most cynical of us into true believers, no matter what the age. The play also happens to be hysterically funny.”
Fridays and Saturdays at 7.30pm, Sundays at 2.00pm. Saturday, March 14, matinee at 2pm only. Thursdays, March 5 and 19 at 7.30pm ($10 tix available).
